Christopher Botta

Christopher Botta is a composer, engineer, and guitarist.  He runs a mixing, mastering, and production studio in Bushwick Brooklyn called "Staple Chest Audio" which is part of a composer/engineer collective.  The studio is a creative workspace where members can build their own and clients’ music from the ground-up.  An example work is "Octet" by Christopher Otto (JACK Quartet).

Christopher Botta also makes electro-acoustic music under the name "christopher botta aka da kid".   A sample from his upcoming solo record for clarinets, strings, guitar, and electronics can be heard below.  He also performs live ambient music. The system uses guitar as source material and laptop as a processor.  He is currently developing a live interactive audio visual system with visual artist Matthew Romein.

His main project is a seven piece instrumental ‘garage-chamber’ band, called "the cellar and point".  Members are from groups such as the JACK Quartet, Mivos Quartet, Mantra Percussion, and Signal Ensemble.  Their debut album will be released in September of 2014 by Cuneiform Records.
